Once upon a time, in a faraway country, perched high above the Adriatic sea, rests an abandoned 1930's hotel with a breathtaking view. The client challenged Senior Designer Marie Meko to transform this dilapidated property into a luxury 5-star boutique hotel.
From concept to completion, Marie originally collaborated with this client and an architect to construct the property's winery. Then, to create the ultimate five-star experience, Marie took the skeletal remains of the hotel's interiors and crafted ten exquisitely unique suites, and designed upscale common areas for both intimate and extravagant gatherings.
To accomplish her monumental task, Marie underwent a complex process of space planning, architectural detailing, cabinetry design, selection of materials, lighting, plumbing fixtures, indoor/outdoor furnishings, accessories, art, custom window treatments, bedding, exterior details, and landscaping. After intense labor of love and almost a decade's worth of planning, one of the most exclusive properties is ready for guests!
"I believe in interpreting classic traditions for contemporary living. An exceptional life deserves an exceptional home."
As an award winning interior designer, Marie’s philosophy is an elegantly curated home, where you can live, enjoy, and entertain.
Marie's years of experience in extraordinary interior design with a classic European flair have resulted in her work being featured in the recently published books, Spectacular Homes of Minnesota and Palm Beach Architecture, as well as LuxDesign Magazine, Traditional Home, Lake Home, Midwest Home Magazine and Renovation Style. Her work has also been televised on HGTV's Room For A Change.
After spending a decade in Santa Monica working for a home builder, Marie returned to Minnesota, but travels regularly to furniture and fabric trade shows in Paris, London and Argentina, always seeking the best and most distinctive options for her clients.
Marie's reputation for working on exclusive and historic properties has led to unique projects including a world-class yacht and a personal aircraft as well as a hotel and winery in Croatia.
She understands that the collaboration between architect, designer and client ensures a successful project.
