The Gathering Place

Having never ordered custom furniture before, this client found it difficult to visualize the final product, and Gabberts Designers Cindy Erdall and Judi Olson needed to gain her faith in their design choices to complete this transitional style. Slowly, the client opened up and began trusting their expertise while she started to enjoy herself during the selection process.

Blending solid and pattern fabrics with textured and plain leathers, the designers used contrast welting to create interest in the furniture. Then, they rounded out this family-friendly site by adding casegoods, rugs, and beautiful and relaxed magnolia floral draperies accented with artwork and accessories.

Comfortable and entertainable throughout, the living room is centered with an inviting curved leather sofa for easy conversation paired with two curved chairs in green velvet fabric with contrasting blue buttons and welt. The home office includes a stunning cream 60" writing desk featuring horizontal tambour molding and saber legs. Outside, the environment is complemented by a three-season porch with a fireplace featuring deep blue and white seating that emanates a sense of relaxation. Lastly, the client requested a comfortable entertaining pub theme for the lower level; to that end, these designers opted for a luxurious reclining leather sectional and ground it with a custom taupe and cream plaid area rug and round paisley ottoman with nail trim.

"The most important part of the design process is establishing a great designer/client working relationship from the very beginning. Once that foundation is built, the design process is enjoyable and the result is extremely rewarding."

Cindy feels the most important part of the design process is establishing a sound foundation from the beginning. She listens to her clients to reflect their personalities and lifestyle.

Cindy began her design career working for some of the most prominent designers in the Twin Cities including Robert Lenox and Billy Beson. Their guidance early on in her career set the stage for Cindy’s design philosophy and work ethic. Cindy’s known for her organization, high energy, and fashion forward design ideas that are well received by her clientele.

Cindy takes the time to learn about her client’s lifestyles to ensure that her design reflects their personal taste. Whether it’s classic traditional, contemporary or transitional style, Cindy enjoys working with all design styles. Cindy has extensive industry knowledge of all aspects of interior design including furniture, carpeting, flooring, handmade area rugs, draperies and window treatments. Some of her work includes the Halley’s Custom Homes (Luxury Home Tour) of Eden Prairie, Lowry Hills Model home in Minneapolis and the model at Excelsior & Grand in St. Louis Park.

Cindy received her B.S Degree from the University of Minnesota - Mankato. Her degree is a double major in Interior Design and Space Planning-Housing and a minor in Business.

Outside of Gabberts, Cindy has a passion for her involvement in the community, specifically participating and raising funds for Team in Training and Race for the Cure.

Cindy Erdall at Gabberts is simply the best! I have worked with her for years now whenever I need furniture and design help. She helped me in my previous house, and now she is helping me in a large condo we recently purchased. There are several reasons I continue to call on her: she has a wonderful design sensibility and eye for making a room look great; she is a good listener and manages to address all my desires and concerns; she has solutions for any and every issue; and, she is truly one of the nicest people I know. I feel lucky to have her help me in my home.
