When the clients explained their vision for a new kitchen, they described a space that could easily be at home in England or France. Marie Meko understood their insistence on quality and impeccable design integrity, as well as their love of entertaining family and friends.Given the challenges of a relatively small space, Marie recognized that for the clients’ ideas to be fully realized, virtually every element of the kitchen would have to be bespoke. As the home is located on a picturesque city lake, Marie knew it would be important to add an element of fresh, contemporary urbanity.
About the result:
Black soapstone counters, a black sink, and a state-of-the-art French stove enameled in glossy black with a chrome hood provide gutsy, masculine flair.

As an award winning interior designer, Marie’s philosophy is an elegantly curated home, where you can live, enjoy, and entertain.
Marie's years of experience in extraordinary interior design with a classic European flair have resulted in her work being featured in the recently published books, Spectacular Homes of Minnesota and Palm Beach Architecture, as well as LuxDesign Magazine, Traditional Home, Lake Home, Midwest Home Magazine and Renovation Style. Her work has also been televised on HGTV's Room For A Change.
After spending a decade in Santa Monica working for a home builder, Marie returned to Minnesota, but travels regularly to furniture and fabric trade shows in Paris, London and Argentina, always seeking the best and most distinctive options for her clients.
Marie's reputation for working on exclusive and historic properties has led to unique projects including a world-class yacht and a personal aircraft as well as a hotel and winery in Croatia.
She understands that the collaboration between architect, designer and client ensures a successful project.
