The primary challenge for the design team of this upscale, urban condo was to create a sense of luxury living within a limited square-footage blueprint. Clean, modern classic furnishings were selected for beauty and function. The suite provides respite and repose from the fast pace of urban living whether sitting on the updated Sheraton settee with a glass of wine, reading on the upholstered bed, relaxing with guests on the balcony, or surfing the internet at the heirloom-quality secretary. To increase a sense of spaciousness, a light and airy color palette was selected that was inspired by sand, sky, and water evidenced in the lakefront setting. Understated elegance is quietly emphasized in the use of a wool and silk area rug, expansive windows dressed in shimmering sheers with vapor-blue silk panels to frame the spectacular lake view, a reflective crystal chandelier as well as a hand-painted strié wall treatment.
Inspired by sand, sky, and water echoing the lakefront setting, the designers achieved an understated and tranquil elegance. An area rug made of wool and silk, expansive window treatments with shimmering shears, a reflective crystal chandelier, and a hand-painted strié wall treatment complete the restorative setting.
